Consequently, fish behavior appears to play a substantial role inthese outcomes. However, direct behavioral observations in hydraulic machines usingquantitative parameters to draw conclusions about the underlying mechanisms are hardlypossible and remain understudied. In this study, we examined the behavior of adult brown trout(Salmo trutta) in an experimental flume under hydraulic conditions characterized by strong flowacceleration and high velocities, two key hydraulic features of turbine and pump intakes. Fishmovement behavior was analyzed based on a quantitative approach to enable the analysis ofswimming behavior even in flow velocities exceeding the sprint swimming speed of fish. Theapplication of Hidden Markov Models (HMM) to analyze activity states and movement modes offish from video tracking data demonstrated significant effects of the spatial velocity gradient(SVG) and flow velocity on fish behavior. Notably, SVG emerged as the primary trigger foravoidance reactions when exceeding a threshold of 0.31. Fish exhibited distinct movementpatterns under dark and daylight conditions, with more avoidance reactions in darkness.Whereas a considerable proportion of fish in daylight increased their swimming activity in thezone where flow velocity exceeded sprint swimming speed, in dark conditions no activity peakoccurred in the same zone. The results illustrate how hydraulic conditions and light influencefish behavior. Integrating the behavioral rules identified in this study into numerical mortality‑riskmodels could substantially improve their predictive accuracy. This enhanced understanding cansupport the design and optimization of fish protection solutions at hydropower facilities andpumping stations.Figures

WHyperlink - Wikipedia

W Wikipedia

Hyperlink

A hyperlink connects a reader to another document or to a particular place within one.

In hypertext, a link can be attached to words, images, or other elements.

Links on the web

The visible label of a link is called anchor text. Following a link in a browser opens a related source.

Reading across pages

Definitions, articles and references can be connected through links. Each page offers a path to another idea.

Keep the context

A saved page is easier to revisit when its original links remain available alongside the image.

Link destinations

A link can lead to another article, a file, or a specific section within a longer document. Its destination URL keeps that connection explicit.

Reading with references

Follow a definition to understand a term, then return to the original article. References and related pages let a reader explore an idea from several directions.

Saving a useful source

A long article may contain context well below the first screen. Keeping the complete page preserves the introduction, supporting details and references together.

Annotate & edit

Mark up right on the capture. Box, point, write and blur, while its links stay in place.

Pro

Linxshot searches the page text inside your captures. When the text in a capture, or part of a link’s address, matches what you type, it takes you straight to that spot on the image.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about Linxshot, clickable PDF exports, pricing and security.

Yes, in two ways. Export the capture as a linked PDF: a standard PDF with real link annotations that opens in Chrome, Edge, Adobe Acrobat, Apple Preview or a phone's PDF viewer, with no Linxshot needed. Free includes 3 linked PDF exports a day, and Pro removes the limit. Or create a share link: recipients view the image and click its links in their browser, and Linxshot users can save a copy. You can also download the original image as PNG.

Linxshot is free to start: every capture mode, link hotspots, an unlimited local library, search by name, domain and links, deep search over the last 5 days, library backups, 3 linked PDF exports a day with manual page breaks, and 5 share links a day. Pro is a one-time purchase that lets you keep using its local features, adding deep search across every capture, unlimited linked PDF exports, advanced annotations, selecting and copying page text, and custom hotspot colors, plus 100 share links a day. Share-link limits follow the share service’s rules and may change.

Not by default. Screenshots, link positions and library data stay in your browser's local database, and backups are files you export yourself. A copy is uploaded only when you choose to create a share link; revoking it or letting it expire never deletes your local original. The full privacy policy is linked at the bottom of this page.

Linxshot supports Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. The official store listing is the final word on availability.

No. Pro is a one-time purchase that lets you keep using the Pro features listed at purchase. Possible future services that rely on servers running continuously, such as cloud sync, aren’t included and will be offered separately.
